Taylor Swift Wedding Dress May Be Designed by Dior’s Jonathan Anderson

Has any other bride-to-be ever had this many designer wedding gown options? Meghan Markle? Princess Diana? Elizabeth Taylor?

Word is Taylor Swift and her longtime stylist Joseph Cassell were swamped with sketches from designers all over the world for this weekend’s wedding of the world’s most famous pop star to football’s now most famous tight end. Some of them were commissioned; most of them weren’t.

Luckily, they had months to prepare, with fittings, event planning, sketches and more sketches. While we’re not sure this wedding will take place at Madison Square Garden, as reported, we are sure her wedding planner Mark Seed is well prepared for many brunches, cocktail parties, dinners, afterparties (one reportedly with Swift favorite Stevie Nicks performing — and maybe, maybe, Paul McCartney) and garden parties with many celebs (1,000 guests are said to be invited to the reception), all requiring not just one killer dress but for some events more than one. Why wear one couture wedding gown when you can wear more?

Page Six reported late last week that Swift has several gowns at the ready by her friends, the team at Monse — the New York label founded by designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, who dressed her for the Selena Gomez wedding in Oscar de la Renta, the house where they served as co-creative directors for nine years before returning full-time to their own label. Since Stella McCartney will be attending the wedding, we hear, one of her designs is also in the mix.

But The Hollywood Reporter‘s well-placed sources say the winning dress — the dress that will likely transition Taylor Swift to Mrs. Travis Kelce — is a custom couture gown by Jonathan Anderson of Christian Dior. Since his tenure as Dior creative director began last summer, the former Loewe designer has dressed many a celeb, pop star and Oscar nominee: Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, Anya Taylor-Joy, Josh O’Connor, Greta Lee, LaKeith Stanfield, Mikey Madison, Miley Cyrus, Al Pacino, Sabrina Carpenter, Steven Yeun, Mia Goth, Miles Teller, Maude Apatow, Grace Gummer, Johnny Depp, Monica Barbaro and Robert Pattinson. His recent inaugural bridal design was for Chinese supermodel Ming Xi, for her wedding to businessman Mario Ho, on June 1. Anderson’s second Dior couture collection, sure to have some bridal looks, will be next week in Paris on July 6.

Outside of her wedding, Swift has a penchant for wearing white, anyway — especially white gowns.

Now, might Swift switch it up and tie the knot in one of her many other bridal event looks? Sure. But if you’ve got a Jonathan Anderson Dior couture gown, why would you?
