Sekou Announces Special KOKO Headline Gig as Breakout Year Continues

Sekou has announced a special one-off London headline show, A Night With Sekou, set to take place at Camden’s iconic KOKO on Monday, December 14th 2026.

Tickets go on general sale Friday at 10 a.m., with an artist pre-sale opening Wednesday at 9 a.m. for fans subscribed to Sekou’s mailing list.

“I’m so excited to be playing KOKO – it’s been on my bucket list for such a while,” the ‘Dangerous Lover’ singer said in a statement. “I’ve been to so many shows here, Cleo Sol, Olivia Dean, Little Simz; it’s really exciting and such a moment to be playing here.”

The announcement arrives amid a breakout period for the rising neo-soul star, who recently wrapped a sold-out UK and European headline run, including a standout performance at London’s EartH Theatre. This weekend, Sekou will bring his high-energy live set to Capital FM’s Summertime Ball with Barclay Card at Wembley Stadium before heading stateside for the second leg of his headline tour. Demand for the US dates has been equally strong, with shows selling out across major markets including Brooklyn, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Later this summer, Sekou is also set to appear at All Points East, joining a lineup headlined by Jorja Smith and Tems.

The British singer/songwriter returned in August 2025 with ‘Catching Bodies’ – a sleek neo-pop soul single that introduced his mixtape ‘In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1’, released that November. The five-track project marked a defining moment in his artistic evolution, pairing nostalgic songwriting with contemporary production and further cementing his reputation as one of British music’s most exciting emerging voices.

Momentum has only continued to build throughout 2026. Earlier this year, he traveled to San Francisco to support Sam Smith during their To Be Free residency, where the pair performed Smith’s hit ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ together. He later made his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge debut with performances of ‘Catching Bodies’ and a cover of Justin Bieber’s ‘Yukon’, following his appearance on Bieber’s 2025 album ‘SWAG’.

In April, Sekou released the infectious ‘Dangerous Lover’, offering another glimpse into the next phase of his musical journey and hinting at more new material to come.

Long regarded as one of the UK’s most promising young talents, Sekou first gained widespread attention after making the Top 10 shortlist for BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024 poll. Since then, he has delivered acclaimed performances on Later… with Jools Holland and at the 2025 TIFF Tribute Awards, while also becoming the youngest-ever nominee for the BRITs Rising Star Award.

Along the way, he has collaborated with an impressive roster of artists, including Central Cee and Kevin Abstract, while earning public praise from Elton John – further evidence that Sekou’s rapid ascent is only just beginning.
