Off Campus Star Antonio Cipriano On Grace & Logan Romance In Season 2

Prime Video‘s serialized adaptation of Off Campus may be skipping ahead of Elle Kennedy‘s source material, eschewing The Mistake couple of John Logan (Antonio Cipriano) and Grace Ivers (India Fowler) for The Score pairing Dean Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn) and Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla), but that doesn’t mean audiences won’t get a glimpse of the duo’s romantic beginnings in Season 2.

In a new interview with People, Cipriano teased what viewers can expect of the Logan and Grace storyline.

“I’m glad that you don’t see him in love in the first season,” he explained. “I think it’s cool that you get to know who he is as a person and the struggles that he’s going through, so that when that comes in, when you meet Grace and when he gets to do that, she gets to take down his walls, and you get to see even more of that.”

The Broadway alum continued: “Obviously, we have a Grace now, and that’s very exciting. So there’s going to be a little bit of that [in Season 2], and we’ll just see how it all plays out.”

Cipriano told the publication he read with “three amazing and completely individual, different versions of Grace” who were all “incredible,” but that ultimately Fowler’s take and “quirkiness” felt like “she truly fell right out of the books.”

“When we were watching the videos back, some of the chem reads, after having done it that day, [co-showrunners] Louisa [Levy] or Gina [Fattore], one of them said, ‘It’s cool, because you can tell she has no idea what’s going to come out of her mouth next,’ which is so Grace, and it was so perfect,” he recalled.

“She’s going to bring so much to the show. She’s going to elevate it, and I’m so excited for Logan and Grace’s dynamic. It’s perfect,” Cipriano previewed.

In an interview with Deadline’s Dessi Gomez, Cipriano opened up about what he’s most excited to see in a potential season focusing on Logan and Grace. “I love The Mistake. I think it’s a great book. I think it’s such a cute little rom-com-y moment, and I think the ending is so great. And I love the list. I’m just excited for all these small little things and the meeting scene. We don’t know exactly what it’s gonna look like, but whenever we hopefully get to that moment, that will be really exciting,” he said.

Logan is Garrett Graham’s (Belmont Cameli) best friend and Right Wing on the Briar Hawks collegiate hockey team when he meets freshman sociology major Grace who catches his eye.

Off Campus was renewed for Season 2 well ahead of its inaugural season release — and for good reason, as Season 1 smashed the streamer’s viewing records to secure a No. 3 spot as the most-viewed debut installment ever. Deadline broke the exclusive news of Fowler’s casting alongside Philipa Soo, who is set to recur as Scarlett, a theater artist who is guest directing an original play for the college’s drama department.

Created for television by Levy, college soap Off Campus follows an elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak and self-discovery — forging deep bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.

Season 1 follows the “opposites attract” romance between quiet songwriter, Hannah (Ella Bright), and Briar U’s hockey star, Garrett, as they hatch a fake dating scheme to try and win over Hannah’s crush Justin Kohl (Josh Heuston). The first season also introduces the rest of the quartet of hockey players who will each co-lead a season based on a different book.

Season 2 is slated to begin production in Canada tomorrow.
