Neal McDonough has spoken out about being shunned and almost blacklisted from Hollywood over a bizarre misconception about him.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, the American actor, 60, who is known for roles in the likes of Yellowstone and Tulsa King, said he was branded a “religious nut bag” and it almost cost him his career.
The star also touched on a drinking issue he experienced and said he “lost everything,” before late Hollywood star Luke Perry helped him out by letting the star and his family stay at his home.
“I was, you know, fired from a show because I wouldn’t kiss a woman,” he said.
“No one would hire me because they thought I was this religious nut bag, which is that I love my wife so much.”
“I lost the house, lost the cars, lost everything.”

He said his beloved wife Ruve McDonough helped save him and picked him up in the dark times, when she gave him an ultimatum.
“She grabbed me and says, it’s us or the bottle, you choose,” he said, with him turning his life around.
The pair married back in 2003.
He recently penned a sweet birthday tribute to his wife, writing on Instagram to his fans: “Happy birthday to the greatest thing I’ve ever met.”
“The person that not only changed my life immeasurably, but changed the lives for our five children that we share!
“The blessing that you are to all of us is something that I cannot explain in words! I love you to the moon and back times infinity my love! Happy birthday!”
Last year, in an anniversary tribute, he called her the “love of his life”.
“To the love of my life, to the keeper of my heart, to the maker of my dreams, to my best friend, to the air that I breathe!
“Happy anniversary from the luckiest man on the face of the Earth! 22 years! And look what we have accomplished together, my love!
“Thank you God for the greatest gift of all time… My wife Ruvé!”
Fans will know the star from Yellowstone, portraying Malcolm Beck opposite Kevin Costner.
He’s also known for American Horror Story and Project Blue Book.
