When Cruz Beckham and Jackie Apostel met in 2024, they both knew things were “different”.
They’ve been dating ever since, with German-Brazilian songwriter Apostel, 30, finally sharing details with fans of how the couple first crossed paths.
With Beckham pursuing his own music career with his band The Breakers, it was this mutual passion that brought them together.
“We got put in a writing session and both were so obsessed with what we were doing, and music and became really good friends and then, here we are,” she shared, answering a fan question about how they met during a social media Q&A.
She and Beckham, 21, later shared details about their first date, debating whether they counted an especially long studio session or not.
“Me and Cruz went to the studio and we sat in the studio until 3am, but he didn’t even kiss me, we were just sitting there,” Apostel said.
“I was nervous!” Beckham replied from off-camera.

Whether they count that or not, Apostel said she and Beckham continued to hang out the following day.
“To be fair, we knew it felt different from other sessions,” she said.
“Then the next day we went to a rooftop cinema with my friend Stella who third-wheeled us, and that was our first real date.”
The couple were first spotted together at Glastonbury in June 2024 and by September, they were photographed together throughout Paris Fashion Week.
They went Instagram-official a month later when Beckham shared a birthday tribute for her on his Instagram Stories, writing “I love you.”
Their nine-year age gap has raised eyebrows, but Apostel has not let the detractors get in their way.
”Why is a 29-year-old dating a 20[-year-old]?” a user asked on an Instagram post Victoria Beckham shared for Paris Fashion Week. “That’s just weird.”
“Because he’s kind, funny, smart, caring, driven, mature, talented, loyal and also quite handsome,” Apostel replied.
Despite the age gap, the Beckhams have embraced their youngest son’s relationship, with Apostel joining the family at both public and private events, including David Beckham’s 50th birthday bashes and the premiere of Victoria’s Netflix documentary series.
At David’s London’s birthday bash, Apostel and Cruz even took to the stage for a duet of one of Beckham senior’s favourite songs, Islands in the Stream.
