Britney Spears arrest report reveals shocking details

Britney Spears spoke with a British accent and had an “empty wine glass in the cup holder” of her car when she was arrested.

Britney Spears’ arrest details have been shared

The 44-year-old singer was arrested in the evening of 4 March near her home in Ventura County, California, after police received an anonymous call about someone “travelling at high speeds and swerving” and now a police report has offered further detail on the incident.

According to documents obtained by Us Weekly magazine, Britney – who pleaded guilty to reckless driving in connection with the incident earlier this month – was followed by officers, who observed her car crossing into another lane by “approximately” two feet on several occasions and failed to stop for the cop car’s emergency lights, prompting the police officers to turn on the sirens.

An officer at the scene wrote: “[The subject] continued to drive in the #2 lane and did not immediately react to my emergency lights. I activated the [police car’s] siren to get the driver’s attention.”

Once Britney – who wore a “worn” green striped dress and purple sandals – pulled over, the police detected a “distinct odour of an alcoholic beverage” from inside the vehicle, but the Toxic hitmaker allegedly claimed she had only had one champagne mimosa seven hours earlier and confirmed she had taken several prescription drugs, 200mg of anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer Lamictal, 40mg of antidepressant Prozac and 2.5 mg of ADHD medication Adderall.

And she is said to have said: “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. I’m an angel.”

The report noted: “[An officer] located a brown purse that contained a bottle of pills labeled ‘Adderall,’ which were not prescribed to Spears.

“[The officer] also observed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver seat and passenger seat.

“I instructed Spears to exit the [car], but she initially refused. Spears related she had been pranked and harassed in the past and did not want to exit.”

The Gimme More singer was said to have insisted she “wanted to speak to her lawyer and had the right as a woman not to exit her vehicle” but eventually exited the car after around 10 minutes.

The officer noted “drastic mood swings” from Britney, and that she spoke in a British accent at times as her mood circled from “confrontational and agitated to flamboyant.”

The report read: “I detected the distinct odour of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and person.

“Her speech was rapid and slurred, her gait was unsteady, and she was fidgeting with her fingers.”

Britney claimed she was unwell and didn’t want to complete field sobriety tests.

The report stated: “Spears related the lights were hurting her head and did not want to continue the test. Spears was unable or unwilling to follow my finger throughout the test.

“Spears continued to move her head throughout the test after being instructed to keep her head still. Spears related that she was blind in her left eye, but was able to see my finger.”

Britney was then taken to the CHP Moorpark Office for a Drug Recognition Evaluation before being transported to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, for a blood draw.

But the cop wrote: “In an attempt to delay the blood draw, Spears related she needed to use the restroom. While in the restroom. Spears became argumentative and belligerent.

“I placed Spears in handcuffs and placed her in the right front seat of the [police vehicle].”

In the weeks following her arrest, Britney checked into a rehab facility.

As par tof her plea agreement, she was sentenced to 12 months’ probation and one day of jail, credited as time served.

Britney – who is one of the best-selling pop stars of all time – was also fined $571 and ordered to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.
