Jessica Simpson has cleared the air after ex-husband Nick Lachey claimed she flew first class while leaving her kids in economy during a recent six-hour flight.
During an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Lachey revealed he ran into his ex of 20 years on a flight to Hawaii.
He noticed the Newlyweds star, 45, sitting separately from her estranged husband Eric Johnson and their three chiildren.

Simpson was approached by a Page Six photographer at LAX airport this week where she explained: “My mum bought those tickets”.
“It was my mum’s treat for us to go to Hawaii,” she said.
When asked if she would sit with her kids if she were the one who bought the tickets, she replied to the outlet: “Of course!”

The 98 Degrees singer, 52, was flying first class with his wife Vanessa Lachey and their three kids when he saw Simpson the flight.
Speaking to Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, he explained the run-in “was strangely OK” realising “it’s been 20 years” since their marriage in the mid-2000s.
“Her mother and her were together… my former mother-in-law,” he recalled. “I believe her kids and her [husband] I’m not familiar where they stand, maybe, were on the plane but not with us.”
Cohen clarified if Simpson’s kids (daughter Maxwell, 14, son Ace, 12 and daughter Birdie, seven) “were in separate class of service”.
“Ahh yep, separate class of service,” Lachey confirmed.
As a clip from the episode was shared to social media, fans were quick to weigh in on Simpson’s situation.
“Wait, what? Jessica and her mum were in first class and her kids were in coach? I could never.😂,” one fan commented.
“[Host] Andy so messy ~ pointing out the coach seats 🤣,” said another in a comment that’s amassed close to 4,000 likes.
“People are dragging Jessica Simpson for putting her kids in coach while she sat first class meanwhile I’m in first class and my son is lucky he’s not in cargo 😭,” joked one follower.
Other fans labelled the Dukes of Hazzard star an “icon”.
“Good for her putting the kids in coach LOL she deserves a break,” wrote another fan.
While a fifth added: “Mother’s Day gift for the win.. the mums get first class and let the dad deal with kids behind you 👏.”
Simpson and Lachey were married in 2002, famously getting their own reality TV series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
The couple called it quits three years later before finalising their divorce in 2006.
”We meant a lot to each other and we always will,” Simpson wrote about Lachey in her memoir Open Book, which was published in 2020, almost 15 years later.
“I want to be very respectful because I married him for a reason and we were together for seven years for a reason. He has a family now and I would never say anything to disrespect that.”
