Cody Simpson is “praying for a miracle” after giving fans an update on his vocal rest and health concerns.
The Baby Blue singer, 29, has been on vocal rest since discovering a “serious haemorrhage” on one of his vocal cords last month, just weeks after he returned to music.
Simpson said the haemorrhage was now gone but he was not out of the woods, as there was a “big damaged blood vessel on the underside of my right vocal cord”.
”We are going another week of complete silence and praying for a miracle heal,” Simpson shared on his Instagram Stories, asking fans to send him their love.
He was still unsure if he would require surgery, although he said it was looking likely.
With his recovery still up in the air, Simpson had a surprise for fans.
“In the meanwhile I’ve got the goods I’ve been piling for the project when I could write and cut vocals,” he said. “I want you to hear them.”

Within minutes, Simpson posted himself lip-syncing along to a snippet of a new song.
“Can’t say I miss you so I’ll just say,” he captioned the clip.
The song’s lyrics allude to a break-up, with lines including “sometimes I think you took a piece of my heart and it hurts me so bad to leave it like that”.
Fans were desperate for more.
“DROP THIS NOW,” one wrote.
“Another banger, we are SOOOOO back,” replied another.
“This is THE song!! Release date?” asked a third.
Simpson’s injury came just weeks after he made a triumphant return to music with two new singles, Baby Blue and When It Comes to Loving You.
He had been building to his new album release for months, bringing fans along on the journey of putting the record together.
He has been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles as part of the process, following his break-up with Olympic swimmer Emma McKeon after four years late last year.
The pair started dating in 2022, bonding over their love of swimming.
Simpson had moved into the sport after a long singing career, trying his luck as a competitive swimmer and making the Australian Olympic team.
Earlier this year, a source close to the couple revealed the split was “amicable,” adding, “They are still really good friends.”
