Disney+ Joins Hulu Livestreams Of Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza & Austin City Limits Music Festivals

Disney+ is joining sister streamer Hulu‘s live coverage of the Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits music festivals.

The global livestreams will be June 11 to 14 (Bonnaroo), July 30 to August 2 (Lollapalooza), and October 2 to 4 (Austin City Limits Music Festival). Exact programming details will be announced closer to those dates.

Disney has recently been emphasizing its connection with music. Last week’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York featured a lengthy segment with Ryan Seacrest touting America Idol and closed with a performance by Olivia Rodrigo, who starred as a teen-ager in Disney Channel series Bizaardvark.

The joint stream comes as Disney is preparing to merge Hulu and Disney+, rolling out a unified app by the end of 2026. Last summer, the company announced Hulu was replacing Star as a tile on Disney+ internationally, one of several moves after Disney took full control of the service. Since its founding in 2007, Hulu had been a joint venture among multiple media companies.

As streaming technology improves and festivals continue drawing top-shelf acts, livestreams of music festivals have become more common. YouTube has hosted annual livestreams of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, and Amazon Prime Video has carried Outside Lands.

Hulu is in its sixth year of offering Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, all of which are put on by Live Nation.

“Music festivals are among the most electric, can’t-miss moments in culture, and now Disney+ and Hulu subscribers around the world can experience the excitement,” Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning & Partnerships, DTC at Disney, said in a statement. “As we continue to extend our live offerings, we remain committed to bringing fans the biggest, most iconic moments right as they happen, and are thrilled to bring that vision to life with Live Nation.”
