Eurovision 2026: Delta Goodrem loses Eurovision for Australia

In heartbreak for Australia, Delta Goodrem has missed out on claiming the Eurovision crown.

Australia placed a shocking fourth with 287 points, behind Romania with 296 points, Israel with 343 points, and the winner Bulgaria, who won with 516 points.

Australia was poised to be the winner, being right behind the winner Bulgaria the entire time as votes flooded in.

We were certainly the crowd favourite, according to UK TV host Graham Norton, who noted from the ground, “If the audience could crown a winner right now, they would give it Australia. I hope her star power doesn’t go against her.”

Her hit song, Eclipse, helped her make it to the Grand Final alongside countries including Malta, Denmark, Norway, Albania and Cyprus.

For her show-stopping performance, Goodrem wore a pale gold glittering dress and was on a raising platform as she belted out the song, wowing fans.

Pyrotechnics also went off behind her, as she performed to cheers from the crowd.

However, it was not enough to clinch victory.

Nine.com.au spoke to Goodrem in an exclusive chat right before she jetted off to Vienna to represent Australia in the song contest.

The singer said she “loved” all the positivity around her entry.

“I love it, I love the passion, the positivity,” she told nine.com.au.

“I’m gonna take all this incredible good energy and vibes with me and fly over to Vienna with it all.”

Delta is not the only Aussie representative to come so close.

Dami Im almost won us the crown with her performance of Sound of Silence in 2016, coming second.
