Bonnie Tyler resuscitated after cardiac arrest as doctors tried to pull her out of induced coma after emergency surgery

Bonnie Tyler reportedly had to be resuscitated after going into cardiac arrest after doctors tried to bring her out of an induced coma.

The singer, 74, was originally admitted to Algarve hospital in Portugal last week after emergency surgery following her appendix bursting, but was soon put into an induced coma when her condition worsened.

The singer, known for her hit Total Eclipse of the Heart, will now remain in a coma in an intensive care unit at Faro Hospital until doctors can properly manage the “serious infection” caused by a perforated intestine, Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manha reported.

Her long-term friend Liberto Mealha told The Sun doctors are confident she will make a full recovery despite the complications.

He recalled the singer started feeling sick when attending a concent in London and went to the doctor for tests, but nothing was detected.

She then decided to travel to The Algarve in Portugal, where she has a home, but soon began to feel severe abdominal pain.

She visited a private hospital, and later was transferred to Faro after her appendix burst and emergency surgery was needed.
