Tammy Hembrow has admitted she was ‘really not OK’ and had panic attacks as her marriage ended in the public eye last year.
The influencer and Love Island star Matt Zukowski announced their split in June 2025 after seven months of marriage.
“It was an excruciating experience at first,” the mum of three, 32, tells Stellar‘s Something to Talk About podcast.
She said the period before the public was informed of the split was particularly had, because it was “difficult to put on a brave face and pretend everything was OK”.
“I started having panic attacks … I was really not OK for a while,” she said.
The Tammy Fit creator said therapy was key to helping her through the turbulent time.
“I couldn’t even go to the grocery store without breaking down, I was in such a terrible place,” she recalled.

“Someone would say hi to me in public, and my nervous system was just so fried that … I would break down immediately.
“I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life, and I feel like it was just the trauma of the relationship and the breakup and … trying to deal with the public and everything after it. It was just a lot.
“I can gladly say that I’m in such a better place now and I’m grateful to be out of that, and I’m grateful for everything that I’ve learned.”
Hembrow said the public discourse and speculation around her split from Zukowski only compounded the situation.
“There’s been a lot of really untrue things said,” she continued.
“Dealing with any breakup is already so difficult, and doing it in public with everyone with their assumptions and their opinions, it just makes it 10 times harder.
“And then also just doing it as a mum and trying to not break down in front of my kids … it was a really difficult thing to go through.”
