Rihanna just added one of her most personal tattoos yet.
Celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang shared a look at the singer’s new ink this week, revealing that the design was inspired by drawings from her children. The tattoo, placed behind Rihanna’s knee, recreates colorful scribbles originally made by her little ones on paper decorated with Paw Patrol stickers.
“Designed by her babies,” Bang Bang wrote alongside photos and videos of the new tattoo.
Photos and video clips shared by Bang Bang showed the original paper design covered in colorful lines and shapes. The tattoo mirrors the same messy, freehand look from the drawing.
Fans had a lot to say after the photos started making rounds online.
“Imagine looking back at it when they will be older. The cutest mom,” one person wrote.
“That’s so cute, beautiful idea,” another added.
“My god, this is so cute… my goal is to do this when i have my kids. @badgalriri,” another fan commented.
One person simply wrote, “Wabi sabi.”
Not everyone was sold on the design, though.
One fan wrote, “Now rih… this could’ve just stayed on paper,” while another added, “Was hoping this was a joke.” Another person commented, “It ended up looking like a road rash from a motorcycle crash lol,” while someone else echoed, “this looks a mess.”

Bang Bang has worked with Rihanna for years and has tattooed the singer throughout different stages of her career. In a 2018 birthday tribute, he reflected on their longtime friendship and working relationship.
“Your co-sign of my s— for the past 10+ years has changed my life. It’s been my privilege to decorate you, more importantly it’s been an honor to be your friend,” he wrote alongside older photos of Rihanna’s tattoos.
