The Only Way Is Essex star Jake Hall has been found dead in a freak accident in Mallorca.
The former reality TV show personality was found unresponsive with head wounds reportedly caused by shards of glass at a villa on the Spanish island.
Officers investigating the death say they were considering that he may have smashed his head through a glass door, according to reports. Police have spoken to four men and two women who were staying at the villa.
The Spanish Civil Guard said it was investigating the incident, which it said appeared to be an accidental death.
Police were called to the holiday rental at Santa Margalida in the north of the island at about 7.30am on Wednesday. There have been no arrests and an autopsy will take place in the Mallorcan capital, Palma.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
Hall, 35, had been spending time in Mallorca with family and had been posting videos and photographs of his holiday on Instagram in the days leading up to his death. He posted on Wednesday: “Life is bollocks sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things – ️ looking through things – I’m just making art – in many forms.”
He often spent time in Mallorca, where he had a second home, and recently unveiled a sculpture he had made on the island.
The Only Way Is Essex production team paid tribute to Hall in a statement. They said: “Jake was a part of the Towie family for a number of years and we send our very deepest sympathies to his family and friends following today’s very sad news.”
He is survived by his daughter, River, with the Ladies of London star Missé Beqiri.
