It’s not just the money and fame that make celebrity life unrelatable – singer Maren Morris has revealed even their scams are exclusive.
To most of us, spam text messages involve packages we didn’t order or banks we aren’t signed up with, but it turns out the rich and famous have to remain vigilant for other potential cons …
Like a fake invite to the celebrity wedding everyone is waiting for.
Morris, a country musician, was on radio show Hits 1 Miami with Mack & Jen when she was asked if she’d received an invite to the upcoming nuptials of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
And she had – kind of.
“I got a spam text a couple weeks ago, and it was like ‘You’re invited to Taylor and Travis’ wedding,’ and I was like, ‘I’m blocking this,’ because there’s no way they would send an initiation through a text like this,” Morris, 36, said.
“I was like, ‘How is this going to my number?'”

Here’s hoping she was right about it being spam, because you’d hate for it to be real and ignore an invite to the wedding of the year!
To make this more confusing, Morris could very well have made the guest list.
She collaborated with Swift on You All Over Me, a vault track from her 2021 Fearless (Taylor’s Version) re-record, and they performed the song together in front of more than 60,000 fans during Swift’s Eras Tour in June 2023.
Speculation about Swift and Kelce’s wedding has gone into overdrive, with latest reports suggesting it will be a ginormous celebration in New York City in the American summer.
While details are scarce, Morris isn’t the only one fielding questions about receiving an invitation.
Former One Direction member Niall Horan was also coy when asked on a Canadian radio show about whether he had received the invite.
Horan has been friends with Swift for years, having performed together on her Reputation tour in 2018.
“I’ve got loads of weddings to go to,” Horan said during a March interview with the Katie and Ed Show.
“I know what you’re getting at, I’ve been invited to a few weddings, yes.”
