Fox has canceled the comedy series “Going Dutch,” Variety has learned.
The series aired two seasons at the broadcaster, with the most recent season beginning in January 2026 and the now series finale airing on April 23. Denis Leary led the cast, which also included Taylor Misiak, Danny Pudi, Laci Mosely, Hal Cumpston, Joe Morton, Catherine Tate, and Kristen Johnston.
News of the cancellation comes a little more than a week ahead of Fox’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York, where the network will lay out their plans for the 2026-2027 broadcast season. They have already made decisions on most of their pared down scripted lineup, which includes renewals for shows like “Doc,” “Best Medicine,” and “Memory of a Killer.”
On the live-action comedy side, the Joel McHale sitcom “Animal Control” was renewed for a fifth season earlier this year. At the time of this publishing, it is the only live-action comedy on the Fox slate at present.
And of course, Fox’s Animation Domination block — which includes “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy,” and “American Dad” — is all coming back as well.
Fox has largely moved away from scripted programming in recent years, focusing instead on a wide variety of unscripted formats and game shows. To that end, the network just greenlit a new dating show called “The Marriage Market” hosted by Whitney Cummings for next season.
The official logline for “Going Dutch” stated:
“The arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn (Leary) — after an epically unfiltered rant — is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least strategic army base in the world, notable for its Michelin Star-commissary, top-notch bowling alley, lavender-infused laundry and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Armed Forces. Surrounded by a diverse group of military misfits, the colonel tries to reinstate discipline and professionalism with the help of the base’s previous interim leader, who just happens to be his estranged daughter (Misiak).”
Joel Church-Cooper created the series and served as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Hilary Winston. Denis Leary and Jack Leary are executive producers via their Amoeba production company. Fox Entertainment Studios produced.
