Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel turned their twins’ birthday into one they will remember.
Frankel shared a look at the celebration on April 24, posting moments from Cooper and Maya’s second birthday. The couple skipped a traditional party and opted for a private visit to Love Always Sanctuary in California, where the twins spent the day around animals.
The outing focused on giving the twins time with animals, something Frankel said they talk about often. During the visit, Cooper and Maya had the chance to interact with a variety of animals, including chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, and more.
Frankel explained the idea behind the celebration in his caption. “For the twins’ 2nd birthday, we wanted to do something they’d absolutely love…and their love for animals is constantly coming up all day. So what better than a private hang at @lovealwayssanctuary where they could spend the day running around meeting all sorts of em!?” he wrote. “
He continued, “It was amazing seeing them so excited to hang with chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, turtles, pigeons, a goose, a turkey, a mini pony, and more. They had such a good time they’re always asking when we’re going back to ‘Oh MacDamo’s farm’.”
Frankel also reflected on the milestone as the twins turned 2. “Can’t believe we officially have two TWO YEAR OLDS! Such a wild, beautiful, hilarious, and exhausting ride. I wouldn’t change it for the world,” Frankel added.
Sidibe and Frankel welcomed Cooper and Maya in April 2024. Since then, the actress has occasionally shared updates from life with her twins.
In November, Sidibe posted a glimpse of a day on set while working on a directing project. She held both children while standing next to her director’s chair. “The twins visited me on set the other day. They STILL [aren’t] allowed to watch screens tho,” she wrote.
Frankel later responded in the comments with a message to his wife. “Getting to watch them visit you at work and you simultaneously be a boss lady and the best mom is such an honor.”
