Aussie Actress Alea O’Shea has undergone another surgery amid her ongoing battle with brain cancer.
Since being diagnosed last year at just 25 years old, the former Home and Away star has been undergoing a number of treatments to beat the illness.
A whopping $78,000 has since been raised via crowdsourcing, with friends, family and fans rallying around the star as she tackles the cancer head-on.

“Over the past months, Alea has been bravely facing brain cancer and the many treatments that come with it,” her friend and organiser Lauren Newton wrote on the donations page.
“Last week she underwent another surgery as part of her ongoing fight. While her courage has never wavered, the journey has been incredibly challenging for both Alea and her family.
“Many people in our community have been asking how they can help. This page has been created to give friends, family, and the wider community a way to support Alea by helping ease the financial pressure of medical treatments and related expenses.”
The fundraising goal was originally $80,000, with donations nearing that total as of Monday.

While battling the illness herself, O’Shea has also prioritised raising awareness and calling for support for other women undergoing the same journey.
The star recently kickstarted her own fundraiser, aimed at increasing follow patients’ access to high-quality wigs.
“Her generosity of spirit in the midst of such a difficult time has moved so many of us,” O’Shea’s friend and crowdsourcing campaigner shared.
The star, who portrayed Darcy Callahan – daughter of central character Heath Braxton – on the hit show, previously announced her shock diagnosis to fans via Instagram.

“This is a video I obviously thought I’d never have to make, but I’ve recently been diagnosed with brain cancer,” she said. “It’s been a crazy few weeks.”
O’Shea, who starred on Home and Away between 2011–2014 and again from 2016–2017, explained that the diagnosis process all began when she noticed her “smile was a little uneven, and it felt harder to talk”.
”If there’s one thing I want anyone to takeaway from this video, it’s advocate for yourself,” she added.
“When something feels off, even slightly, pay attention to it and find the right professionals who will take you seriously.”
